Who are the Expressway Cyber participants?
Participants come with both an international background in IT and a practical understanding of cybersecurity practices as they prepare for their CompTIA Security+ certification through CAPS Sheridan. They have completed courses in numerous key areas such as: Risk & Threat Assessment, Data & Network Security, Threat Detection, Governance, and more!
What is Expressway Cyber ?
Expressway Cyber is a great way to access skilled cybersecurity interns! Partner through Riipen and access COSTI’s talented participants for (up to) 8-week placements designed to strengthen your organization’s security while supporting talent to get the real-world experience they need.
Employers can post a range of projects that are well suited to Cybersecurity such as:
What type of projects can I post?
Access our template library for inspiration, or browse to see what other employers are looking for. We make it easy for you to convert your business challenge into off-the-shelf 4-week projects. We require a minimum of 5 hours of mentorship from employers for your collaboration.
Projects should provide up to 60 hours of work per participating learner. Each project must be completed within 8 weeks. For more information on how to create and submit a project for, you can consult this article.
There’s no limit to how many projects an employer can submit to the program. You will be assigned a team of 3-5 learners per project.
All of the learners working on your project will be required to complete 60 hours of work in the 8 week period. Working with 3-5 learners is somewhere in the region of 200 hours. If you feel that the work requires more than 300 hours (5 team members) you are welcome to submit a second project in the existing or upcoming cohorts.

With the completion of your project, learners will meet their capstone requirement within the Expressway Cyber Program. You are developing job-ready workers who can fill key in-demand digital tech roles and support a competitive and resilient digital economy. All you have to do is review their final submission, provide feedback, and mark the project as complete.
