Frequently asked questions

How many projects can I submit, and how many volunteers can I take on?

The TCF team will work with you to determine how many volunteers you will be assigned. Volunteers are assigned in teams of 2-6, contributing 90 hours each on a part-time basis, and continuous placements are acceptable if you wish to participate more than once.

What does a Youth Thrive project need to include?

Each volunteer placement should offer a minimum of 90 hours of meaningful work and be completed within a minimum 3-month period. To get started, simply submit a proposal (template provided) that highlights your non-profit and its mission, goals, and current needs. Once we receive your proposal, the TCF team will follow up to explore the opportunity in more detail.

These placements will be three months long, and as such you may be able to complete multiple short-term projects within this time frame or one longer and more comprehensive project. The TCF team will help you determine what is best for your needs during your introductory meeting.

What if I have multiple projects?

How the program works

Youth Thrive Program is funded by Canada Service Corps, a national movement that empowers youth aged 12–30 to gain experience and build important skills while giving back to their community. Learn more here

Remote or hybrid mentorship

Post your tasks and work with volunteers remotely from across Canada. We require a minimum of 5 hours from organizations to support participants over the course of your collaboration.

Amplify your cause

This is your chance to work with local youth who can bring new ideas and various skills to your nonprofit.

Track progress

Connect with volunteers assigned to your project, track project progress and get reminders on major project milestones through the TCF portal. Keep track of important documents and communications all in one place.

Riipen and The Career Foundation have joined forces to bridge the gap between skilled youth volunteers and local non-profits in select provinces. This initiative connects an eager team of volunteers to a non-profit seeking to amplify its cause and attain additional support.

What is The Career Foundation National Program?

Riipen and The Career Foundation have partnered to connect skilled, motivated youth volunteers with local nonprofits. Through this initiative, non-profits gain valuable support from volunteers eager to contribute their time and talents during flexible 90-hour placements, helping organizations amplify their impact and advance their mission.

The volunteers are from The Career Foundation’s Youth Thrive program. The Youth Thrive Program under the Canada Service Corps (CSC) is dedicated to creating, promoting, and facilitating access to meaningful volunteer service opportunities for youth.

Who are the TCF Volunteers?

Volunteers are from The Career Foundation’s Youth Thrive program. The Youth Thrive Program under the Canada Service Corps (CSC) is dedicated to creating, promoting, and facilitating access to meaningful volunteer service opportunities for youth. Before beginning their placements, volunteers complete 30 hours of skill-building training, preparing them to contribute meaningfully.

These volunteers are eager to support nonprofit organizations and help amplify their mission through hands-on engagement.

What type of projects can I post?

To make things easy, we have created a proposal template for you to fill out. This allows us to learn more about your goals and needs, and from there, you will work with a TCF representative to determine the best way to move forward

Mark projects complete

With the completion of your project, volunteers will meet their placement requirement within the TCF National Program.  Employers must review their final submission, provide feedback on their work during the placement, and mark the project as complete.
